6 EASTER PREVIEW Easter stars recognised in World Rankings THE Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale has long been the benchmark thoroughbred auction in the southern hemisphere. e sale s recognition as being a high quality source of international class gallopers is now well and truly global, especially when looking at the 2012 World oroughbred Rankings released by the International Federation of Horserac- ing Authorities (IFHA). Inglis Easter graduates All Too Hard and Mosheen were bestowed the titles of Champion 3YO Mile (Tur ) and Champion 3YO Filly Mile (Tur ) respectively. All Too Hard, who topped the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale at $1,025,000, shared the 2012 title of World Champion 3YO Mile on Turf following his outstanding performance in winning the Caul eld Guineas-Gr.1 in October. e star colt has since matched the feat of Redoute s Choice in claiming the Caul eld Guineas-C.F. Orr Stakes double as a three year-old. e $250,000 Inglis Easter purchase Mosheen was the world s highest rated 3YO lly in the mile category for 2012 with her win against the males in the Australian Guineas-Gr.1, one of four Gr.1 events won by the daughter of Fastnet Rock in 2011/12. Fastnet Rock s Gr.1-winning son Foxwedge, who was a $925,000 yearling, was rated one of the best sprinters in the world by the IFHA when allocated a rating of 121 for his victory over Hay List in last year s William Reid Stakes-Gr.1. Other Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale graduates to be rated 115 or more in 2012 by the World oroughbred Rankings commit- tee were Metal Bender (by Danasinga), Musir (by Redoute s Choice), Monton (by Catbird), Admiration (by Encosta de Lago), Master of Design (by Redoute s Choice), Be er Life (by Smarty Jones) and Sichuan Success (by Fastnet Rock). More potential stallions and champion fillies on offer in 2013 COUNTLESS champions of the Australian turf have gone under the hammer at the Inglis Easter sale and then gone on to defeat all comers on the track, before embarking on breed shaping careers at stud. Leading sires Exceed And Excel, Flying Spur, Encosta de Lago and Fastnet Rock are all graduates of the prestig- ious sale, as are dynasty-creating mares Bint Marscay, Circles of Gold and Tracy s Element.
