Bluebloods : Karaka 2012 Yearling Sale Preview
KARAKA 2012 YEARLING SALE PREVIEW 44 T THE son of More Than Ready (USA)-Elle Duccio (AUS) by Danehill (USA) succeeded where many have failed, and delivered on his promise of ruling the two year-old roost. “ It’s been a great achievement and he was quite dominant with six individual juvenile winners and five were Group or stakes placed, so there’s obvious quality there,” Brighthill Farm studmaster Nick King said. “ We’re not a big farm by some standards and there have been a lot of sprinting sires who haven’t achieved it, so it has been really satisfying.” The winner of the Goodwood Handicap-Gr.1 during a career that netted him prestige race victories as a two, three and four year-old, Perfectly Ready is poised to move to another level. “ With the New Zealand broodmare band we’re confident he’ll end up with horses who will get over a bit more ground as they get older,” King said. “ Thorn Park and Pins were both Australian sprinting sires and they’ve done just that, so we’re quite excited about the next step. He has had books of between 130 and 150 mares every year and the quality hasn’t dipped, so there’s plenty more to come. It’s been very rewarding and we’re looking forward to the next year unfolding.” It is, therefore, with confidence that Brighthill Farm’s owners approach the 2012 National Yearling Sales with a Premier draft of outstanding quality. “ We’ve got two High Chaparrals who have as good a pedigrees as any of them. BRIGHTHILL FARM celebrates a Perfect year Perfectly Ready’s achievements have spearheaded the brightest of years for Nick and Anne-Marie King, and with their resident stallion claiming New Zealand Champion First Season Sire honours it’s been a memorable 12 months for the couple. VENDORS It is with confidence that Brighthill Farm’s owners approach the 2012 National Yearling Sales with a Premier draft of outstanding quality.
