Bluebloods : Inglis Sydney Classic 2011 Preview
AWELL-RELATED daughter of the Blue Diamond Stakes-Gr.1 winner Nadeem in the Yashraj Breeding and Racing draft for the Inglis Classic Sale "ticks all the boxes" for Mark Gillam. "She's a big, strong filly and a lovely proportioned horse with great balance," he said. She is out of Rosie's Sunset, a winning Woodman mare whose only foal to race is a winner. "We sold another half-sister named Rosie's Empress to Grahame Begg last year and he just loves her, and this one is a real Oaks type," Mark said. The feature name in the pedigree is the third dam Empire Rose, who claimed the Melbourne Cup and the Mackinnon Stakes and is also the grandam of the Queensland Derby-Gr.1 winner Empires Choice (by Nadeem's sire Redoute's Choice). The son of Australian Guineas Al Maher and the triple winner Corrofin (Lot 447) is a half-brother to two multiple winners with plenty going for him, according to Mark. "He's an athletic type with scope and his half-sister Double Fun is a promising two year-old." They hail from the family of the multiple Gr.1 winner Shoot Out and the Gr.2 winner Native Jazz. Yashraj's daughter of the first season sire and European Horse of the Year Dylan Thomas is out of Southern Jazz (Stark South), who has the perfect record at stud with three winners. "She's a really lovely, athletic filly and should develop into a nice two year-old. I race her half- brother My Zillionaire and he's a stunning individual." Mark also predicted the Dash For Cash filly who is from the same family as the Dylan Thomas colt, to be a likely juvenile prospect. "She is a beautiful animal with plenty of strength and looks all over an early type." She is out of the winning Danewin mare Jodhabai, a daughter of Southern Jazz, and the pedigree includes the stakes winner and Gr.1 placed Ebury. Completing the consignment is a son of the Cox Plate winner Savabeel. He is out of Foxy Joan, a Desert Fox (Sadler's Wells) mare, while the second dam is the dual stakes winner Joan's Best who has produced three winners and is a daughter of stakes winner and producer Yankee Gold. This is also the family of the Western Australian Derby-Gr.1 winner Markus Maximus, the Manawatu Cup-Gr.3 winner Nanjarra and the stakes winner Zupacool.
