Bluebloods : Inglis Sydney Classic 2011 Preview
ONE of Geoff Harris' favourites in his Toolooganvale Farm draft of 8 yearlings for the Inglis Classic Sale is the son of the Gr.1 winner Ad Valorem. "He's a cracking colt and as a type is a stand out," Geoff said. The youngster is out of the winning Lycius mare Tis Hopeful and is from the family of Stage Hit, Sir Laurence, Helene Pillaging, Indian Raj and Sainthood. His second dam, stakes placed Miami Vice, produced nine winners. "The Magic Albert colt is another strong type and pretty typical of his sire. He is from the Rory's Jester mare Beata, who has produced two winners and is a half- sister to stakes performers The Foreman and Sandy Prospect. The VRC Oaks-Gr.1 winner Sandy's Pleasure is a notable name in his pedigree." Toolooganvale will also present a colt by Outback Prince, from stakes placed Makamint, a half-sister to Gr.3 winner Wallstreet and from the family of Gr.3 winners Hootandance and Ististar, and colts by first season sires and Gr.1 winners Any Given Saturday and Excellent Art. The son of Any Given Saturday is a half-brother to a multiple winner and from the Last Tycoon mare Sweet Executive. The colt by Excellent Art is out of a Danzero half-sister to the stakes winner Huxssen, and this colt's third dam is a stakes winner by Nureyev. Among the fillies in the draft is a daughter of first crop sire and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense and the Golden Slipper winner Callaway Gal (Clang). "Type wise she's a good sort and so is the Dubawi," The Irish 2000 Guineas winner's daughter (ex Red Coronet by Red Anchor) is a half-sister to four winners including stakes placed Zonked and from the family of the multiple Gr.1 winner Diamond Shower. The Charge Forward filly is out of Caradon (Bluebird), a half-sister to stakes winners Donna Dior and Yesterday, from the Gr.1 family of the Golden Slipper winner and successful sire Catbird. January 2011 17 TOOLOOGANVALE FARM Ad Valorem colt takes the eye Calaway Gal (Clang-Calais Royale by Captain's Gold (USA))
