STUART RAMSAY'S Turangga Stud, Scone has a draft of 10 top class yearlings for the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale by high profile sires including Flying Spur, More Than Ready, Commands and Zabeel., but Stuart Ramsay's commitment goes beyond using the best stallions available, he has continually upgraded his broodmare band and this year's draft included three yearlings who are from Gr.1 winners, another from a Gr.1 runner-up and another whose dam has already produced a Gr.1 winner. There is racing class wherever you look in all these pedigrees and the yearlings are sure to enhance Turangga's already strong reputation for producing good winners. The first of the stud's youngsters into the ring is Lot 2, a chestnut filly by Flying Spur from La Nikita by Desert Sun. Her city-winning dam was a smart performer and earned black type with a win in the Listed Keith Nolan Classic at Kembla Grange. Second dam Zeddez (Zeditave) won over 1100m and placed in the Widden Stakes-LR. Turangga's farm manager Warren Park described this yearling, the second foal of her dam, as "a big strong filly with plenty of bone." Lot 75, a bay filly by More Than Ready from Niagra Falls by Danehill, is bred on a terrific cross (the same as Sebring, Perfectly Ready and Benicio) and her dam won five races, three at two, including the MRC T.S. Carlyon Cup-Gr.3, and her only foal to race is the very smart Queen of the Falls (General Nediym). Second dam Bracken Bank (Sir Tristram) won the MVRC Champagne Stakes-Gr.2 and this is the family of Golden Slipper winner and sire Marscay and Melbourne Cup hero Subzero. "Very strong, very well developed and correct." Lot 83 is a chestnut colt by Rock of Gibraltar from (Our) Quivera by Spinning World. He is the third foal of a very fast mare whose six wins (1000m-1200m) included the SAJC Dermody Stakes-Gr.3 and who has already produced this season's 2YO city winner Panipique. Second dam, stakes placed Wichita (Umatilla) produced five winners including Listed winner Kishkat to Spinning World. Fifth dam is Rosehill Guineas-Gr.1 winner Deck The Halls. "A very athletic colt, looks just the sort to go early," Warren said. Lot 168 is a brown filly by Commands and from Sky Love by Octagonal and carries a 3fx3m cross of wonder broodmare Eight Carat. This filly's dam was a really good mare whose five wins included the SAJC Christmas Handicap-Gr.3 and she is a half-sister to the Emirates Stakes-Gr.1 winner Sky Cuddle. This filly is a sister to juvenile winner Love Attack, while her second dam is the city winner Suggestive (see Lot 189), a sister to two year-old stakes winner Pottinger. "A very scopey, well grown filly who is a very good walker." Lot 173 is a bay filly by Commands from Soprana by Carnegie. Her stakes placed dam was runner-up in the Spring Champion Stakes-Gr.1 and won over 1400m in Sydney at two and is a sister to the Queensland Guineas-Gr.2 winner Regent Street, whose seven wins also included the VRC Straight Six-LR. Soprana has already produced Gethsemane (three wins). This filly's third dam is NZ stakes winner Lavender Hill (dam of Khamacruz and Snow Chief). Bred on the successful Danehill/Sadler's Wells cross, this filly is "medium sized and has a great attitude to work". Lot 189 is a bay colt by Fastnet Rock from Suggestive by Al Hareb. By the sire of the moment Fastnet Rock (Danehill), whose son Wanted won the VRC Newmarket-Gr.1 in March, he is the eighth foal of the wonderful broodmare Suggestive (Al Hareb), whose seven foals to race have yielded six winners including Gr.1 winner Sky Cuddle (six wins and $862,280), Gr.3 winner Sky Love (five wins and $231,825) and the multiple winners Scorpio Star, My Joy and Hint and this season's city winner Undeniably (Fastnet Rock). Great residual appeal as she is by multiple champion sire Zabeel who is also an exceptional broodmare sire. "Compact, attractive filly, very correct."
